THE HERTFORDSHIRE (TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING
RESTRICTIONS IN B1037 STEVENAGE ROAD, WALKERN) ORDER 2020

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of B1037 Stevenage Road, Walkern from its junction with the B1037 Fairlands Way/Gresley Way roundabout north eastwards, eastwards, south eastwards, north eastwards and eastwards for a distance of approximately 1516 metres (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via B1037 Fairlands Way, A1155 Verity Way, A1072 Martins Way, A602 Hitchin Road, B197 (Graveley Road/High Street/Jacks Hill), A505 Baldock Bypass, B197 (London Road/High Street), B556 Whitehorse Street, A507 (Clothall Road/unnamed road/Baldock Road) and B1037 (unnamed road/White Hill/High Street/ Stevenage Road).

ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 7 December 2020 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

A copy of the proposed Order may be inspected free of charge at County Hall, Hertford between the hours of 9.00am and 5.00pm (excluding weekends, bank and public holidays).
